The 4th quarter is in full swing!
We are nearing the end of Module #4 in Math. This past week we continued our study on making equations true by substituting the variable with a true number. This week we have MSTEP in Math. We will continue working on one and two step equations.
We wrapped up week #2 in unit #4 this past week on overcoming challenges. Look for the grammar, spelling and reading tests in powerschool. This week we are launching week #3 on making hard decisions. Students will have a test on Tuesday of next week on the reading selection and grammar for the week. Students will be wrapping up their district informational writing selection this week. That leaves us with one more writing assignment for the year. In grammar this week we will continue our study of pronouns by reviewing possessives. Spelling contracts are due next Monday and our skill this week is prefixes and suffixes.
We are having some great discussions in social studies on population patterns. This week we will continue our discussions on why it's important to know the age of a population.
Look for a test announcement soon on Meteorology. We are working on the tail end of this unit this week. Remember, there will be no study guide for this test. Students have been taking notes in class and can use those notes on the test.
Students started the Reading NWEA last Friday. We are looking to finish this assessment this coming week. That will only leave us with the Math NWEA to go.
6th GRADE KICKBALL GAME
The date is set for Thursday, June 13th. The 6th graders will verse the teachers on the kickball diamond. Flickinger has been doing this tradition since the school government passed the law years ago. The school president who signed the law 7 years ago, is joining us to celebrate this day. Families are welcome to come and watch the game. Bring your camping chairs! Kick-off time will be announced soon.
